Minister of Water Resources, Engr Suleiman Adamu

From the inception of this administration, the Federal Government through the Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu, FNSE has demonstrated serious commitment to the development of the water sector towards meeting the aspirations and goals of the SDGs.

One of such commitments is the forth coming conference of the Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists slated for 5th to 10th November, 2017 in Ilorin Kwara State; which the Honourable Minister will be a Special Guest of Honour. This conference will enable participants to chat scientific ways to harnessing groundwater resources in meeting with SDGs in the Water Sector.

The Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (NAH) was founded in 1976 with the goal of promoting best practices in the exploration, development and management of Nigeria’s water resources. It is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization encompassing all water resources development professionals, scientific and research groups in Nigeria. Its activities impact progressively on several facets of the national strategic spheres particularly groundwater resources extraction and related environmental and socio-economic activities.

The theme of this year’s conference, “Strategies to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Water Resources” will x-ray ways and approaches Nigeria will adopt to achieve SDGs targets in water; through exciting scientific programmes relating to surface and groundwater resources management and groundwater resources projects concepts and governance.

The Honourable Minister of Water Resources, who is the association’s Grand Patron and also a Special Guest of Honour at the event, will lead the Federal Government’s delegation to the conference.
