WorldStage Newsonline– LekkiTV, an online entertainment television platform has been launched to boost Nigeria’s local content in entertainment.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos on Friday, Chairman, LekkiTV, Dr John Ayeke said that the organisation was committed to encouraging local productions as the entertainment industry is the future of Nigeria.
He said that LekkiTV would produce entertainment and other programmes that would suit the Nigerian society.
He said, “The aim of LekkiTV is to create a platform for upcoming generations to grow in the entertainment industry.
“Our focus is on the music and movie industries, sourcing out local content and pushing it out to the world.
“It is mainly an online platform with over 20 shows that are free to air at present.
“We are giving opportunities to upcoming artistes to showcase their talents and secure international opportunities,” Ayeke said.
Mr Samuel Oladoye, the Managing Director of LekkiTV, urged Nigerians to invest in the entertainment industry to make Nigeria greater while calling on the Federal Government to encourage development of talents.
