WorldStage Newsonline-- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Mr Emmanuel Aguariavwodo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Oct. 12 Delta Central Senatorial District by-election.

The INEC official described the conduct of the by-election as free and transparent and urged all the political parties that took part in the exercise to accept the result in good faith.

He commended the political parties and their agents for the peaceful conduct of the election.

Meanwhile, Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Victor Ochei has congratulated Chief Emmanuel Aguarivwodo, on his victory and emergence as the Senator-elect from the Delta Central Senatorial by-election.

In a press release, Hon Ochei stated that the victory is a testament to Delta Central’s preference for worthy representation at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, through a viable vehicle as provided by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He observed further that this triumph could not have come at a more auspicious time, when the electorate desire quality and result-oriented representation, attributes which Chief Aguarivwodo has in abundance, considering his wealth of experience in legislative business as an erstwhile member of the Federal House Of Representatives.

Hon Ochei also urged the Senator-elect to reciprocate this gesture of acceptability from the electorate, by availing them of the dividends of democracy to them.

The legislator equally congratulated His Excellency, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan on this overwhelming victory, which accentuates the Governor’s political astuteness and sagacity, thereby confirming  the Peoples Democratic Party as the dominant political party in Delta State.

The Speaker also commended the Delta Central Senatorial zone for their peaceful conduct while voting the Peoples Democratic Party, which is a heart warming development, adding that, this gesture will spur the party to greater commitment to providing more democracy dividends, in line with Governor Uduaghan three point agenda.
