Airtel Nigeria is the official telecommunication firm of the Enugu Trade Fair 2012.
Airtel Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Rajan Swaroop, made the commendation during a Special Airtel Day exclusively set aside for the company to tell its success story and showcase its products and services by the organizers of the fair, the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
Swaroop restated the commitment of Airtel Nigeria to continue in its unrivalled provision of telecommunications services to the people of Nigeria and in particular the South Eastern region. He revealed that the company is investing heavily in the expansion of coverage and enhancement of its capacity to ensure continuous improvement of quality of service.
The CEO, who was represented by Airtel’s Zonal Business Manager for South Region, Abidemi Ajagbe, said the people of South East are noted for being industrious and itinerant family oriented hence the high need for telecommunications services to transact business and keep in touch with families both at home and abroad.
“In the past 18 months, we have revolutionized telecommunications with innovative products and services as well as innovative tariffs. You will agree with me that the coming of Airtel marked the beginning of cost effective tariffs with products like 2Good, 2Good Extra, Big Family, Club 10 and so on. More significantly, we recently introduced Airtel Club Business, which is specifically meant for Small & medium Enterprises (SMEs) and launched 3.75G Internet Service which again is the fastest broadband service and comes with the best coverage across 36 states and Abuja. There's no better occasion than a trade fair of this scope to showcase Club business, which is a winner for SMEs and the best of its kind”.
Airtel Nigeria demonstrated its commitment to the development of the Nigerian economy by not only sponsoring the Trade Fair as its official Telecommunications Partner, it equally showcased its innovative product offerings that enhances communications and provides added value to Nigerian businesses thus ensuring returns on investments.
The Airtel Special Day attracted thousands of visitors to the fair and was graced by several dignitaries including members of the state Executive Council led by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Jude Akubilo, members of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (NACCIMA) led by its President Dr. Theo Okonkwo, representatives of the state traditional council as well as the Media.
