DStv PBL: Battle for supremacy between Pillars, Yelwa shifts to Kano

WorldStage Newsonline-- Runaway Savannah conference leader of the DStv Premier Basketball League, Kano Pillars Basketball Club and second place Yelwa Hawks Basketball Club of Bauchi will this weekend engage in battle of supremacy at the sports hall of the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

The Sunday match between the two sides which is dub the ‘Star-match’ of week-7 in both conferences, is expected to live up to expectation as both sides are yet to drop game in the ongoing season.

Both sides had won all their six games so far reason for the importance attached to Sunday pairing as it could decide who top the conference going into the final-8 playoff coming up in June this year as Pillars battle to reclaim the league title it lost last season after winning in the first three seasons.

Niger Potters Basketball Club of Minna will continue its resurgence as it host Bauchi Nets Basketball Club in Minna on Saturday; Nigeria Immigration Basketball Club will be at home to bottom placed Civil Defenders Basketball Club of Abuja in Kano on Saturday while last season fourth place finisher Kada Stars Basketball Club will continue it's search for a comfortable finish in the Savannah conference when it hosts Tapgun Rockets Basketball Club of Jos in Kaduna on Sunday.

In the Atlantic conference, the sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos will host two games on Saturday with Nigeria Customs Service Basketball Club team going up against Comets Basketball Club at 2.00pm while Chariots Basketball Club and Union Bank Basketball Club will take the centre stage at 4.00pm and on Sunday Police Baton Basketball Club will continue it search for a winning formula as it confronts ruthless and conference leader Dodan Warriors Basketball Club at 4.00pm while Royal Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt will attempt to put behind it it 70-81 points week-6 home loss to Dodan Warriors and go for the kill against visiting Islanders Basketball Club of Lagos at the Civic Centre.
