NSE index drops slightly, as UBA, NCR, Conoil lead gainers'

Lagos (WorldStage Newsonline)-- Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange ended the week on a negative note, as the bears dominated, with 23 stocks on the loser's table as against 17 that appreciated.

As a total of 413,753,497 shares worth N3.1 billion exchanged hands in 4,775 deals, market capitalisation dropped slightly from N7.051 trillion Thursday to N7.050 Friday, representing a drop of N1 billion or 0.0014per cent.

Similarly the All-share index dropped by 0.0014 per cent to close at 22.109.44 from 22.109.76 on Thursday.

Following its fact behind the figures presented to the exchange today by United Bank for Africa (UBA), it led the gainer's table with a gain of N0.17 kobo to close at N3.57 kobo per share, NCR Plc gained N0.87 kobo to close at N18.28 kobo per share and Conoil Nigeria Plc gained N1.27 kobo to close at N25.46kobo per share.

On the other hand, Cutix Plc led the losers' chart by shedding N0.08 kobo to close at N1.52 kobo per share, followed by Continental Reinsurance Plc that shed N 0.04 kobo per share to close at N0.76 kobo per share and Champion Plc that shed N0.17 kobo per share to close at N3.39 kobo per share.
