Abuja (WorldStage Newsonline)-- The minister of interior, Mr. Abba Moro has called on all Nigerians to join hands with the Federal Government to defeat the forces against the country.

In statement to mark this year's Democracy Day Anniversary entitled "Let us join hands to defeat evil", and made available to our correspondent, on Sunday, Mr. Moro noted that the spirit of unity, love and peace preached at independence by our founding fathers was been trampled upon by a few self serving individuals and institutions and therefore urged Nigerians to say no to them.

He said, "As we march towards attaining greater heights in the overall development of our dear country, Nigeria, this is the time for all of us to join hands to defeat institutions and individual forces that have vowed that Nigeria will not progress in all spheres of development.

"This is the time for us as a people to say no to political anarchists, whose aims are self serving and destructive. This is the time for us as a people to say no to religious fundamentalists, who are bent on tearing down the walls of our unity using religion as a tool.

"This is the time for us as a people to say no to economic saboteurs, who are only concerned with destroying the economic foundation of the country.

"This is the time for us to say no to the promoters of ethnic and cultural division. This is the time for us as a people to rise up to defeat the forces of darkness. This is the time we must as a people work together to enthrone peace, unity, understanding, love and the spirit of togetherness in our country.

"This is the right time for all of us as Nigerians to join hands and collectively work with the leadership of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, President, Commander in Chief, Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, to move Nigeria forward for the benefits of generations yet unborn."
