WorldStage Newsonline Dangote Flour Mill Plc has appointed Mr. Ekanem Etim as its Acting Managing Director, according to a notification filed with the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Born on May 25, 1959, Etim is a First Class Economics graduate of the University of Lagos (1984). He started his working career with the University of Lagos as Graduate Assistant (1984 – 1985). He then worked with Chase/Continental Merchant Bank Limited as Credit Analyst (1985 – 1987). From 1987 – 1990 he held the position of Deputy Manager, Credit & Marketing at First City Merchant Bank Limited and later moved over to Liberty Bank Plc as Executive Director (Systems, Transactions & Branches) – 1990 - 2001.

Etim joined the Dangote Industries Limited in 2002 and has since worked as the Head, Eastern Operations, Dangote Industries Limited (July 2002 – May 2004), Managing Director, Dangote Bail Limited, On Onne/Port Harcourt (Cement Terminal Operations) (June 2004 – January 2008), Executive Director (Dangote Cement) – Sales & Marketing (North, South-South and South East)  (February 2008 – November 2011). Until this appointment, he was the Deputy Managing Director – Flour Group (December 2011 – February 2012).

Ekanem Etim is Associate – Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Institute of Certified Credit Administrators. He has won many prizes and attended several training and development courses and seminars both in Nigeria and abroad. He is married with children.
