Nigeria’s lottery commission boss assures level playing field, as Russian firm shows interest
WorldStage Newsonline-- In a bid to protect investors as well as Nigerians, Director General of the Nigerian Lottery Commission, Mr. Peter Igho has assured that the agency will do everything possible to ensure a level playing field for all.
He gave the assurance when top management team of a Russian company, Ritzio led by Mr. Nazih Nahman paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission's headquarters, Abuja.
The industry has continued to attract foreign interest, the latest been the Russian company, which has indicated interest in establishing a lottery business in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Lottery Commission's media manager, Hajia Rakiya Attah, the Russian company has received its operating license under the name Capstar Entertainment Limited.
According to the statement, Igho assured that them of the "commission's support in ensuring a level playing field, inits bid to protect the industry investors, as well as Nigerian people."
He also noted that with operating licence, they could operate in any part of the country.
In his earlier remark, Nahman commended the commission for sanitizing the industry and providing the enabling environment for the lottery industry to strive in Nigeria.
He also noted that his company was happy to partner with Nigerian government through the lottery commission in creating a business relationship of mutual benefits.
