Fire guts Okunowo, ex-Super Eagles star’s house in Ibadan

Gbenga Okunowo house gutted by fire in Ibadan

WorldStage Newsonline-- A fire incident at the Ibadan metropolis on Sunday gutted the house of former Super Eagles and FC Barcelona defender, Gbenga Okunowo.

The former footballer's burnt property which located at Ring Road in Ibadan is valued at N200 million.

Okunowo who managed to told our correspondence on telephone that the sad incident started from his neighbour's house belonging to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

The erstwhile Shooting Stars of Ibadan player however revealed that no life was lost in the incident.

His words:"We were all at sleep when it all started, but Almighty God speared our lives.

"This is a great loss for me because this is all I have worked for all my life. We couldn't bring out anything from the house when the fire started.

"I must have lost a property in the region of N200 million."  

Some of Okunowo's friends in the national team led by Dimeji Lawal were sighted at the scene.
