NSE index up 0.15%, as UTC, Union Bank, Evans Medicals gain

WorldStage Newsonline-- Activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Monday on a bullish note as market capitalisation appreciated by N11 billion to close at N7.408 trillion from N7.397 trillion recorded Friday, representing a rise of 0.15 per cent while the All share Index also with the same percentage to 23,273.56 from 23,239.03 Friday.

A total of 209,747,979 shares worth N1.6 billion exchanged hands in 3,306 deals while 21 equity stocks appreciated in price as against 23 that depreciated.

UTC Nigeria led the gainers' table with a gain of N0.04 kobo to close at N0.84 kobo per share, Union Bank gained N0.24 kobo to close at N5.12 kobo per share and Evans Medicals gained N0.05 kobo to close at N1.10 kobo per share.

Eterna led the losers' chart by shedding N0.13 kobo to close at N2.55 kobo per share, followed by Custodian and Allied Insurance Nigeria  that shed N0.06 kobo per share to close at N1.23k obo per share and International Breweries  N0.28 kobo per share to close at N6.07 kobo per share.
