Wema Bank says fire outbreak at head office under control

Lagos (WorldStage Newsonline)-- Wema Bank Plc on Tuesday confirmed a fire outbreak at its Head Office, 54 Marina, Lagos, saying it emanated from the generating set.

The bank aso confirmed that no lives were lost during the incident, while commending the Lagos State and Nigerian Fire Service, the Nigerian Police and neighbouring banks that came out and ensured that the fire was brought under total control in good time.

“We also wish to assure the public that the bank has put in place necessary measures to mitigate the impact of such occurrences and that the fire would in no way adversely affect the operations of the bank,” according to a statement.
