WorldStage NewsOnlinne— In a bid to provide affordable housing to resident of Kaduna State, the State Government has announced a partnership with the Federal Mortgage Bank.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, stated this while receiving the officials of the bank, led by its Managing Director, Ahmed Dangiwa, on Thursday in Kaduna.
She commended the bank for its reforms, which will ease the hardship faced by low income individuals in accessing affordable housing.
The deputy govervor assured the delegation that the state government would give the needed support in actualising the bank’s mandate.
According to her, as part of its critical reforms, the state government has created the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure to embark on urban renewal projects including the provision of standard and affordable houses to the people.
”We will have new layouts and with the partnership, we will put up standard affordable houses for our people,” she said.
In an interview shortly after the meeting, the Managing Director said the aim of the visit was to seek for collaboration with the state government which is a major contributor to the National Housing Fund.
Dangiwa explained that FMB had built about 1,128 houses in Kaduna for contributors to the NHF.
”We have build houses across the state costing about over N5.6 billion and we have come forward to seek for more land to build more houses in the state,” Dangiwa said.
According to him, the bank want more public and private individuals to also key into the national housing fund.
